We wanted to check out something new in our area, so we decided to try out the Griffith Observatory. It was pretty cool, unfortunately we were unable to take our time and read all the interesting stuff (on astronomy, telescopes, the planets, meteors, etc.) with Finnley running around the place pushing all the buttons. :) So we opted to enjoy the views instead. There is also a hike that takes you closer to the Hollywood sign, but the heat and lack of being prepared made us save that for another trip.
The views around this place are amazing. You can see all the way to the ocean, downtown LA, Hollywood, etc. There were a lot of interesting facts about meteors too...did you know that a woman was hit by one when it entered her home and struck her while she was taking a nap?? And she survived! Anyway, I think its worth the trip...even if you just go for the atmosphere...get it! :)
