Glorified People Watching at the ESPY's...

A few weeks ago, Mitch and I scored some tickets to the ESPY Red Carpet. Talk about glorified people watching. I enjoy sitting at the airport or Disneyland watching the wacky crowd walk by, so imagine my delight as I got to watch real celebs in action. It was great. Plus, I had a pretty hot date.

We weren't allowed to have cameras, but we snuck in our little point-and-shoot and stole a few pictures. I'm surprised they turned out - half the time I wasn't even looking. So, here you go...our date to the ESPY's.

Top Left to Right: Jimmer, Bunch of celebs/athletes, Bethany Hamilton, Brooklyn Decker, Ryan Reynolds, Jason Bateman, Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams, and Bieber.
Bieber was the real attraction - which is funny since it is a sports awards show - and there were hundreds of little girls outside the gates screaming for "BIEBER"! Unfortunately, he stayed inside on the red carpet, but they did get a up-close-and-personal view of Selena Gomez. We did too as they rushed her past us on her way into the show.

It was a great night, and so much fun. Now, I've gotta get some tickets to the OSCARS...talk about amazing!

Dinner Group...

When we were newly married, us and a few of our newlywed couple-friends got together each month and took turns hosting a dinner at our homes. It was something I looked forward to every month. As children have arrived, and the group has evolved, the dinners don't happen as regularly as they used to, but we still make it a point to get together when we are all in town.

This year we met up at Salt City Burger, and had a great night laughing and catching up. I wish we could do this monthly like "the good old days" but in reality, it probably wouldn't happen even if we did live in Utah. We felt like youngins again, staying up until almost 2 AM chatting and playing games. Thanks for the fun night, and an even BIGGER thanks to all our free babysitters over the break.

The Oyster Bar...

One of my favorite things to do while in town, is go out for an adult only dinner with my family. It's so much fun to be without the kids, eating out at a delicious restaurant, and enjoying adult conversation, laughter, and fun stories. A few days after Christmas we all got together for a dinner at the Oyster Bar in South Jordan. Mmm, it was good, and the laughs were even better.

After we all hit Target together, we went to a Movie and laughed some more. (Steve laughed so hard he "honked", and that means he was laughing hard!) What a great night, and an even better tradition!

Love you guys!

USC v. Oregon...

Last Saturday, Mitch and I left the kids behind and headed to USC's homecoming game against Number 1 ranked Oregon. USC took a beating, but it was still fun to be there with my man, cheering on the Trojans in the Coliseum, watching all the drunk fans and students, and flashing our "Fight on for Victory" signs.

They were having a "red out" but honestly I don't have much red in my closet. So, I decided to go with the gold. Well, I guess it was more green than gold and my man was very disappointed that I looked like I was rooting for the other team. Whoops!

Fight on Trojans!

The Conga Room:

A few weeks ago we celebrated Ashley and Emily's birthdays by heading downtown to LA Live and experiencing J. Lo's Conga Room for some salsa dancing. It was so much fun.

We started out at 8pm with an hour lesson. We learned to move our hips, hair comb, and some sassy spins. Then the real party started. We giggled a lot - I guess I wasn't used to seeing so much concentration from Mitch when it came to dancing! I have to admit he was pretty good by the end of the night (even though he wouldn't let me lead!)

Thanks ladies for planning such a fun night out!
