Diane & Damon come East...

Mitch's mom was kind enough to come out to Long Island a few days early to help with our kids while I headed upstate for our stake youth conference in Palmyra.  Damon was on break from dental school, so he came too!  They partied all weekend long.  I'm pretty sure my kids didn't miss me one bit.  They hit the city and visited the World Trade Center memorial in NYC, and came home with almost-life-size stuffed animals from Target.  I'd say they were happy campers.  Thank you, thank you for watching our kids. You're the best!

I got home on Saturday, and Sunday after church we took a drive out to the Hamptons to let them see all the gorgeous homes and beautiful beaches.

We said goodbye to Uncle Damon on Tuesday, and hello to Grandpa Doug that very same night.  We all had a blast and hope it doesn't take them a year to come back and visit us again!

Cooper's Beach...

My kids had school off for Yom Kippur (yes, I haven't posted in a month!)  so I decided to take advantage of the last beach day of the year and head to the Hamptons.  We had been wanting to check out Cooper's Beach, but the summer parking fee of $40 kept us away until the off season.  It was worth the wait.  The weather was beautiful, the sand was soft, and the crowds were gone.

Angel babe just chilled on the blanket with her toys, while the salty ocean air drained her nasal passages all over her face.

This kid is a goof ball.  The best part is, he doesn't even try to be goofy or funny he just is! I love how free and happy my kids are on the beach.  They just run back and forth from the water, dig in the sand, chase each other, scream, and get all their energy out.  I wish everyday could be a beach day.

Dolphins.

I love my three.

Hampton's Classic...

After the US Open, "Jake and Blane" came and stayed with at our place for Labor Day weekend.  Our kids were in heaven (can you say hyper?) and I'm afraid the Moores would have held off on having kids if they weren't already with-child.

We decided we wanted to head East on Long Island and check out the Hamptons, Montauk, and the Hampton's Classic Horse Show.  We stopped along the way at a fun little farm stand in Bridgehampton.  Dieter picked out Edamame, his favorite, while Finnley picked some peaches.

Jane is everything pregnant, that I was not.  She's stylish, skinny, not an ounce of extra fat on her body, perfect skin, and nooo booty.  Like I said, everything I am not when I'm pregnant!  So excited for them to welcome their little boy next month!

After driving around some of the Hampton's neighborhoods and admiring their 30 foot hedges (yes, every house is surrounded by a ginormous hedge!) we decided to hit up the horse show.  It was fun for soooo many reasons.  First of all, our group are fans of the show REVENGE, so we imagined running into Emily Thorne and Victoria Greyson at the horse show.  Second, can I just say, the people watching here was per-fec-tion! Women walking on the grass in stilettos, men in their Purple polos, pink plaid shorts, and blue Sperry's.  The only child be hovered over by his parents, while the nanny follows closely behind carrying the diaper bag.  Soooo great.  And third, the horse show was pretty amazing, and it was fun to see that kind of an event in person.

This guy came in wearing leggings, with a girl on each arm.

I wish I had more pictures from the event.  I found out later than Mayor Bloomberg's daughter was jumping, as well as Kelly Ripa's daughter who participated in a juniors event earlier in the day.  They, however, were all under the Grand Prix tent, not the grand-stands like us commoners.

Me and Jane, just trying to fit in!

After the horse show, we drove further East to Montauk.  This place was more our style.  Such a fun and relaxed atmosphere.  We literally just laid out on the sand and chilled for a couple hours....until it was time to eat.  We ate at the cutest little place in Sag Harbor called Bay Burger.  I am already planning a trip East so we can eat there again!

We loved spending two weekends in a row with Blake and Jane, and can't wait to see them again for Thanksgiving!  So glad we finally live in the same country...and same coast.
