Utah in October...

I've been blogging backwards, but hey, at least I'm blogging.
Nobody blogs these days...have you noticed?  I mean, unless you're promoting your personal ventures that is.  I miss the old days of blogging - you know, just checking up on your friends and seeing how they're doing, what they're doing, etc.  Oh well...back to blogging.

In October, we got to take a trip out to Utah...TWICE!  The first trip was mostly to see the USC v. UT game, but of course we threw in all sorts of fun with our families.

Girls night out with my mom and sisters.  Dinner at Trio, dessert at The Dodo, and then closing down Target walking all the isles.  That's our kind of fun!

Remmy and Harper...one day apart...both getting a thumb fix.

Celebrating Grandpa Doug's Birthday up at Ruth's Chris in Park City.
Hiking Cecret Lake with my family.

Utah v. USC - Oh, you better believe I didn't root for the Utes!

Finn and her cousin Carter hanging out in the Box with Grandma and Grandpa.

Mitch was in heaven....at least for the first quarter.  Then the Trojans showed up.

While in Utah, we were able to visit my grandpa who had recently suffered from a stroke.  We were able to talk to him and say goodbye.  He died a few days after we left, and Remmy and I were able to make the trip back for his funeral.  It was a bittersweet time.  It was fun to be with my family and reminisce about our fun, Rabbit - grandpa, but its was also hard to say goodbye.

I was able to take a fun walk with my aunt and cousin - talking and laughing is the best therapy.

Adios Amigos...

A couple weeks ago we had to say goodbye to a few of our favorite people. Our close friends the Copples have moved UP in the world, and are starting their life after dental school in Arizona. We miss them already, and Finnley keeps asking about Talli every time we get together with friends. We celebrated and said goodbye.

The boys...

...and the girls.

Alyssa has been such an amazing friend. I feel cheated that I only got to overlap with her and her cute family for one year. Hopefully we'll keep our word and see each other on girl's trips, adult trips, family trips, and any time she decides to come back to California.

Good Luck Copples! Come back soon.

Saying Goodbye...

Two Saturdays ago (boy I've been bad at blogging) Mitch flew up to Utah to attend his wonderful Grandma's funeral. He was able to speak, giving the obituary and life story - as well as a few memories of his own. Grandma Blanche was an amazing person. By the time she died, she had practically given everything she owned away. She would much rather see someone else happy and not go without, than to have more than she needed. She was a feisty (in a good way) and independent woman who even attended the new temple open house two days before she passed. I know where Diane gets her "drop-anything-to-help-you-out" attitude from...her amazing mom. We are sad that grandma Blanche is gone, but happy that she is back with her loving husband Elden, and son Jordan.
Diane and her sisters Leslie and Ann Marie at the viewing.
Cute Ashley and Zack at the funeral.

Grandma Blanche...

Mitch's cute grandma Blanche passed away this morning at 90 years old. We are so sad to see her go, but are happy we were able to be here in Utah and say our goodbyes to her in person. We know she is in a better place, and happy to be with her eternal companion Grandpa Rass. We'll miss you!
