Finn's First Trophy...

Saturday was a big day in the Duckworth household. We got our first trophy in the family courtesy of Miss Finn. To say she was thrilled would be an understatement. She took it with her to Mitch's turkey bowl and made sure to show it off.

We have had so much fun watching our little lady play soccer, although I'll admit, its nice to have our weekends back. Way to go Finn. We are so proud of you!

Our Little Soccer Star...

WARNING: Gushy, proud mother post about my adorable little soccer star. If you don't want to hear me rave about my little lady....stop reading now. ;)

Okay, but seriously! I am such a proud mother. Finnley started soccer last Saturday. I think I was looking forward to this more that she was. I just love organized sports at all ages, so I was really excited for that phase of life to start for our family. It's here, and now our Saturday mornings are spent watching Miss Finn kick around the soccer ball. They started off with a 45 minute practice-skills set where they got to work on ball control, warm-up, stretch, etc. I couldn't take my eyes off her in her bright purple uniform, over-sized shorts, purple socks and Pumas.

What do you think? Is she enjoying herself? I think so.

Okay, on to the best part!
After their 45 minute practice they have a half-hour game. Mitch's family was in town and all came to watch Finnley's soccer debut. Only a couple of minutes into the game, Finnley got control of the ball and took it down to SCORE! I love the picture below, its like she's registering that the ball actually went in the net, and that she actually just scored.

And...then it sunk in and you can see the joy and excitement on her face! (You should have seen the excitement on mine!) In the third set, she took the ball down and scored again! This time, she hopped right off the field and into her Grandma Diane's arms. It was the cutest thing. She completely forgot about the game and went to celebrate with the family! Ha ha, love her.

GOAL!

Finnley and Zoie

I think our whole family is looking forward to this season of soccer, and watching our little lady kick some bootie. Way to go Finnley!
