Visitors don't come nearly as often as they did when we lived in California. We used to see someone at least every six weeks, now I find myself begging for people to come see us. Sara came through for me, and she and Rex came for a fun visit. Finn and Dieter were in heaven having Rex here to play with. They played non-stop. Mitch was like their camp-counselor. He helped them build a tree fort, gave them free reign over the saw, hammer and nails, and other non-kid-friendly sharp tools. He called the day a success since they only used two bandaids. Dads. Sara and I weren't complaining. We had a fun night out as well as a day in the city. Mitch, you're the best!
Friday, we showed Sara and Rex around our town. We took them to our favorite bike trail and beach, had lunch at our favorite Bagel deli, walked around Port Jeff, had delicious New York style pizza for dinner, and then it was off to a movie and Target for the moms.
These two had a blast!
Saturday, Sara and I spent the day in the city, so Sunday, after listening to L. Tom Perry speak to our stake, we headed East to the Hampton's. Our first stop was Cooper's Beach and the kids were brave enough to dip their feet into the icy ocean water. When the kids were finished collecting seashells, we jumped in the car to check out the ginormous homes of the Hampton's.
My sweet Remi girl.
Gorgeous, and huge homes along the shore.
Our last day, Monday, we tried to fit in a few more fun things. We stopped by the St. James General Store, and then had breakfast at our favorite little diner, Maureen's Kitchen. I was in denial and didn't want Sara and Rex to leave. We had so much fun, and I hope (please, please, please) she'll come back soon. Thanks for the fun weekend. Love and miss you both!
