Our Christmas morning started off at the Duckworth's with an early wake up call and a quick round of gift opening. We woke up the kids and took the traditional picture of their sleepy faces on the stairs. Finnley had it down this year, and Dieter was happy to follow along. They both first checked out their Santa gifts, and then dug into their stockings. Finnley was a little disappointed Santa didn't bring her the two items she'd added to her list just days before - a piano and a violin. What the!? Oh, don't worry, she mentioned it several times throughout the day. Santa felt like a complete failure. Luckily there were other items that excited the little miss.
Dieter and his new basketball hoop!
Finn got a pink Barbie "Bug Bug", which fits all her new Disney dolls from G&G Duckworth perfectly, as well as a Dyson Vacuum like mom's that actually works!
Dieter got some cool Playmobils and an awesome tent that Grandma Diane and dad spent hours and hours making. It will seriously be a keepsake for years to come!
After church and lunch up at the Kringlen's, we headed over to my parent's house for more gift opening and a yummy dinner. Finnley was surprised with an awesome new "big girl bike" that is "just like mom's".
The in-laws gave my mom this ginormous canvas picture. It's kind of a joke because my mom has one of me and my three siblings on her wall, but this one trumps it. Their heads are bigger than real life. We'll have to see if it makes it up on the wall. After more food, we packed up our bags and headed to the cabin. It was the perfect way to relax, catch back up on sleep, and enjoy the outdoors. More on that to come...
