Back to Big Sky...

We made our way up to Whitefish, Montana for our annual summer trip. It never disappoints, and this year was no different. We split our days between boating and swimming at the lake, and exploring Glacier National Park. It's one of our favorite vacations, and something we look forward to all year long.

This year we only overlapped with the Batemans for one day, my brother for two, and his family for a couple more. It was a quieter trip, and we missed all the craziness, but it was fun and relaxing. We made our way up to Polebridge once again this year to partake in their delicious pastries and cookies and relish in the simple life for an hour or so. Its amazing how entertaining a big tube can be when there's nothing else to do.

The look of trouble!

We then made our way up towards the Canadian border and into Glacier to Bowman Lake. It was gorgeous. The kids played in the water, throwing and skipping rocks, and drenching themselves in the cold, glacier water.

The next few days were spent on the lake. We made sure no kid made it home without trying something new - whether it was double skis, hufflepuffing, slaloming, or wakeboarding. They were all good sports, mostly, and knocked our socks off! I was especially proud of my little lady for giving the double skis a go, even after a cold spill in the water.

This year was colder than normal, so the kids made a quick transition from the cold lake to the warm hot tub.

We spent our afternoons huddled around the fire, wearing our matching sweatshirts, while roasting marshmallows. It was perfect.

Our mornings were filled with walks along the lake, to the park, into town, or to the toy store.

Mitch arrived 5 days after us and boy were we glad to see him. After a fun day at the Lake, we headed into Glacier one cold day and up to Logan's Pass. We were expecting some snow to be around, but were surprised by just how much there still was. Plus it was cooo-ld!

Some impromptu bum sledding.

As you can see, we were unprepared for the snow and the cold. Mitch with his shorts and flip-flops. Whoops!

Gorgeous Glacier.

The last few days of our trip were spent on the lake, braving the cold water. I had one condition for getting in...I was given the full-body wet-suit.

Once again, it was all made possible by these two!
I really am lucky to have these guys as my parents. Love you both and THANK YOU!
